Real Estate Agent and Branch Development Manager
Edmund Akers is the Branch Development Manager at Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty’s Historic Avondale office, an active real estate agent, and the team leader of THE AKERS GROUP, one of the top sales teams in Northeast Florida.
A Jacksonville native, Ed has lived in both Duval and Clay County for over 50 years. He has an extensive understanding of the lifestyle, communities, schools, neighborhoods, and businesses on the First Coast, and he has a profound love for the city where he lives, works, and volunteers.
Ed started his career in 1987 and has nearly 37 years of experience in real estate, financial technology, and mortgage servicing. His diverse roles have included real estate sales, marketing and management, real estate software design, and nationwide real estate market data and analytics. He has also held corporate positions in financial technology, mortgage servicing program management, and enterprise risk management for a multi-billion dollar company. As a former Risk Director, this really helped Ed assemble some excellent tools to help navigate complex real estate transactions and negotiations.
Ed believes that while real estate is transaction-based, his true motivation is helping customers through life transitions involving real estate. He finds great reward in being part of these significant moments. His meticulous attention to detail and ability to build trusting relationships have been key to his successful career.
After 20 years in corporate roles, Ed returned to real estate sales in 2016 by joining Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty. Since then, he has been a consistent top-producing agent, nearing 300 closed transactions and $70 million in volume. He ranks in the top 10% of MLS agents in the area.
Ed is a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Agent, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, and a member of the local Coldwell Banker Vanguard Global Luxury and Commercial Real Estate teams. He is also an ANYWHERE© Real Estate Relocation Specialist.
Ed has served on various local boards, including Coldwell Banker Vanguard’s “CBV Cares,” Riverside Fine Arts Association, and the Historic Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council, where he contributed to SPAR’s Design Review Committee.
In addition to his professional achievements, Ed is an accomplished artist, vintage fountain pen collector, antique collector, and car enthusiast.
